MontereyMD Spa Case Study: Growing a Monterey Med Spa Online

MontereyMD Spa is a physician-led med spa in Monterey. Part of the site was invisible to search engines, and most of what they had indexed was junk. We cleaned that up, gave every treatment its own city address, and put the physician’s credentials where patients look for them.

Where they started

Real expertise, buried under clutter

  • Search engines had 62 pages indexed for the site, and most of them were duplicates, leftovers or thin pages nobody meant to publish.
  • Our site audit scored it 28 out of 100. No service page sat on an address that named the treatment and the city.
  • None of the service pages mentioned the physician’s credentials, and 13 images on the homepage had no alt text.
What we did

The work, in the order it happened

  1. Cleaned the index

The junk and duplicate pages came out of the search index, so the attention goes to the pages that actually book appointments.

  2. Gave each treatment a city address

Service pages moved to URLs that say what the treatment is and where it happens.

  3. Rewrote titles and descriptions

The core pages got titles and descriptions written for the searches Monterey patients type, in place of the missing or generic ones.

  4. Added structured data

The site now carries structured data, so search engines and AI answers can read what the clinic offers without guessing.

  5. Put the physician front and center

Service pages now show who does the treatment and what training they have. It’s what patients want to know, and search engines look for it too.

On the ads side, one number: over a single reporting period, their search campaigns had a 2.57% click-through rate. That’s one period, so read it as a snapshot and not a trend.

The after audit score is our estimate, and we’ve labeled it that way. None of this is a ranking promise. It’s the cleanup that has to happen before rankings can move.

What this means for your clinic

Your index might be the problem

Most clinic owners never look at what search engines have indexed for their site. It’s worth a look. Old test pages, tag archives and duplicate addresses pile up over the years and pull attention away from the treatment pages you care about.

If a physician or nurse practitioner does your treatments, say so on every treatment page. Patients check, and a name with credentials builds more trust than any headline we could write.
